All good things have come to an end, no more updates, no more photos, no more announcement on this website . Another year, Another Group. Its kinda sad that Group Samuel have to end. Anyway, I hope that each and everyone of us in Group Samuel will treasure the times we have together. Be it bittersweet, happiness, sadness and so on, i hope you all can treasure it, and learn from it. I also want all of us to look back and reflect on what you have done throughout the whole year and think of all the good n nice n sweet things we have achieve as a group. Regrets? there are some...................... But that is not so important. What is important is that I urge you guys to use the training n things that u learn in group Samuel to improve as a better member, committee, assistant commander, assistant deputy commander, deputy commander, commander and not to forget, mentors and hope that each and everyone of us in Group Samuel will not repeat our same mistake next year. Look forward to the new year, new group. Its a new beginning, a fresh, a new role for new people. ( some will venture in new ministry). So, REMEMBER GROUP SAMUEL

Ending is just only the new beginning............ Tomorrow is our last group meeting as a group. remember to come. Its time for a last toast, last cheer as a group. Don't forget about the sharing that Yuke Bin reminded.You don't want to say dunno when we ask you about the group.

Waterworld : The Final Battle.

Imagine this : you are on the ground , crawling your way to the enemy camp. You hear many people shouting and screaming for their lives. with your weapons of choice in tow, you crawl towards the enemy lines, on the way there, you are met with raining water-ballons that rain on you. You shrug it off, crawling towards the enemy destination as a good soldier does. When you reach there, you are greeted by a human barricade that is blocking you from shooting water into the bucket that is the target. You take out a balloon, waiting for an opening there, and Suddenly, sensing an opening between the human barricade, you launch your balloon with you weapon of choice towards the pail.

The balloon that is being launch takes ages to reach the target, You wait to see if the water-balloon hit the jack-pot. But you can sense that it is going to reach the target. and suddenly, The balloon goes into the pail. BULLSEYE............... it went into the pail with such velocity that the balloon breaks upon impact. With adrenalin pumping in ur mind and veins, you continue your mission of bombing balloons into the pail.

Well, Welcome to waterworld, a game where everyone gets wet. This is the final battle and we won't be having a waterworld for sometime. Therefore, I urge the brotherhood and sisterhood of group Samuel, to BRING all your frens, relatives, dogs, cats, hamsters, cockroach and whoeverlar for this epic battle.

This is where we can show how Group Samuel goes to war.

Welcome again. Boy, Time flies. It's November..................... Our group is ending soon. Well, that's why we need to cherish our time together in this 1 month. Due to group ending soon, the leaders in Group Samuel decided to bring the group out for a bowling sessions. Our initial plan was to go to UE3. But, when we went there, we found out that the place was closed. So, we change location to Time Square for bowling.

It was a great time. We split the group into 2 teams to see which team can score the most points. Team A was lead by Jen Ruw while Team B was lead by Wen Cheong. Both teams had a mixture of good bowlers n some that specialize in "Longkang" bowl. But the Champion of the night was the combi of Kah Chun and Jian Zhou. ( If you want to know the whole story, you can ask them)
But in the end, Team A won because they had more points despite the efforts of Team B. But too bad, what can you do............

We had dinner in Jalan Peel, known for it's chicken wing and beef noodles. The food there was superb. We manage to get 4 tables and join them together. According to Yuke Bin, if you want to join tables at Jalan Peel, it's a miracle. n Group Samuel has created history because we manage to do that.

That's all for now. The group is ending in less than a month. I hope that the leaders and members will cherish this time together

Hello everyone, i know i have been late with this posting. ( I'm no more super-blogger like i used to be in my previous group). Nevertheless, here is the post for our Sungai Congkak trip. Well, the trip was wonderful, except for some hitches here and there, everything ran smoothly.

We reach in the evening around 5pm. The weather at that time was going to rain and it was cold, but this didn't deterred our spirits. We went in there and straight away started preparing our BBQ dinner there. The guys were busy chopping wood to start a fire while the gals, ( the gals in our group are kinda clueless most of the time, but it's ok, coz they are in our group).

We manage to set up everything by 7.30pm. By the time we started cooking, it was so dark we couldn't even see what were we cooking. It was pitch-black, but anyway, thank goodness for the candles we brought, it came in handy. We had a candle-lit BBQ dinner. Now, what we had for dinner was lots of meat balls, chicken wings, beef and so on. We had a delicious dinner and we also had sweet water-melon as dessert to cool off our body from all the "heaty" food we had earlier. After that, off we went into our house for some card games. The gals were busy playing cho dai di while the some of the guys were playing some war game wif the jengga. After they got bored, Yuke Bin thought us how to play Poker. ( It was hilarious, you should have seen the faces of pu xuan and jien zhou when they win)

Later through the night, some of the gals decided to have a night walk. Some of them stay at the house and watch some movie that on Yuke Bin's Laptop. The nightwalk was a new experience for some of our members that haven't walk before at night. It was great, some of the members got scared by Jonathan. Coz he pop out of nowhere to scare them. We lights out at around 1am. The gals on the other hand, had their own sessionlar ( the usually girl talk until late at night), The guys where sleeping like dead corpses in a coffin.

The next day, we went for a hike and leech biting session. Kinda nice experience for first timers like Wing and Suet Ling. The hike also marks the blood donation to our leech buddies. anway, before the leech could have their donation, we "exterminated" them with salt. (Rest in peace my friends). But Yannie hurt her toe, few of the guys needed to carry her as she couldn't move ( I carried her, she's lighter than i expected), and also the rain. It rain like Cats and Dogs, n we ended our stay-over the way we started it, WET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The whole Congkak experience brought our group closer together. Although the weather was raining, we enjoyed ourselves there and appreciate God's creation there also. Not to forget, the leeches love us also. hahahaha. That's all for now, THUNDER-ON

Hello again, This is a special post on Songfest 6 for all the other groups. Dun worry, i just put a few photos on each group. Not taking any glory from them, but here to salute the people that participated in Songfest. Our Church got really talented singers. We can have a Broadway Musical with this multitude of Talent that is in our church. We're really bless by the Lord for giving us each and every talented member in PYP. In Songfest 6, We witness the "Perfect Harmony" of Group Moses, The "Energetic and Happiness" from Group Samuel, The "Love Of God singing " of Group Joshua and last, the " Stage Presence" of Group Gideon. Each groups have their own unique way of bringing out the gospel.

Also not forgetting the soloist that participated in the Songfest. Eileen, who is a fresh member that join group Moses not long ( i think from camp until nowlar). She shows us that it doesn't matter ur young or new or raw, if you have the heart, anything is possible. Hope that u will use ur talent wisely. Iris, a young member in our youth and from Group Joshua. This gal got Talent. Give her a few more years, and you can see the best of her. She shows us that age is not a factor, 2 Timothy 4:12. Lastly is our 2 brothers, Kar Fai and Linus. Linus is a season pro but Kar Fai is a great example of hard work and guts. He is a very brave person to stand in front of the crowd and sing a duet in English. ( If you know Kar Fai, you know he struggles in English). Nevertheless, he shows 100% commitment and 100% for effort in practicing singing for Songfest. ( All the other Soloist also did the same, showing 100% commitment and 100% effort in singing, mind you: all the soloist are students and have to juggle their studies with practice)

Thats all for this editionlar. And like what Mr Dexter Ng says in his sermon, PYP ROCKS.

Hello, I know.............. I know. Everyone's been waiting for this update. So I will update this today, Sunday. Although I'm really tired, here is what happen to our Songfest 6.

Songfest 6 was an AWESOME performance. A full Congrats to the other groups for making this Songfest 6 BLAST. Our theme for that day is So Happy. All of us show the judges our happy expressions ( i smile until my jaws are numb :) ) Before we came out, we were very nervous because group Moses shown us how to sing with Perfect Harmony ( a really brilliant singing by them). So, Yuke Bin shouted, "SAM WHAT" before we went out. We went out like a youth group that is full of energy. Eager to sing, eager to dance and Shout It Out, Why Are We So Happy. Another that was very funny and happy is our conductor, Mr David Lian. Boy, the way he conducted was really funny. He's whole body was moving up and down. His facial expression was like those cartoon conductors you watch on Disney or Cartoon Network Channels. But we manage to sing out our hearts out to deliver the message across wif the group Samuel way. That's by doing actions and facial expressions.

Our Soloist is none other than Soo Jen "Daughtry" Ruw. My goodness, he sang like a true Rock Star. With his Larger Than Life stage presence and light burst coloured guitar slinging on him. He belted his rendition of the Song "East To West" by Casting Crowns. The judges were impress with his powerful voice and stage presence. You should have seen his facial expressions. Just by looking at his face, you could feel the song. His voice can actually melt the heart of girls. Just a a stunning performance from this brother.

The results? We got 2nd place. Jen Ruw won Best Soloist for Songfest 6. Although we didn't Win first place but a really great job for each and every member of group members that sing their hearts out and participated in it. Especially those like Jian Zhou and Pu Xuan ( they are very quiet). Yee Ling also ( You know what i mean, Yee Ling :) ). thanks to Je Hsi, Je Kai, Yuke Bin, James, Jonathan, Wing, Suet Ling, Kim, Yen Ling, Lydia, Lyla, Amy and the Sim Sisters, Dawn and Lynn.Also thanks to our Pianist, Cheryl Chung. She's been a great help to us, coming to practice when we needed her although she was busy. A big THANK YOU to you. Thanks also to David Lian for those coaching and inspirational talks. Any other things I left out? Last thing, we have only around 3 months left before the group closes. Let us cherish this moment together as Group Samuel. We have somemore things going on................. The next big thing? CARNIVAL......................................

Anyway, our group was suppose to cook Spanish dishes and we manage to pull of the whole thing. It was wonderful......... the whole group work together as a unit. Hello, everyone. This is the 2nd part of our camp transformation update. The 2nd night, we played a game called Beyond Limit. Man, if u think this game is something like "masak-masak" or other type of games, your are in for a surprise................... this is da "GAME" of the whole camp. the game goes like this, half of the people will be doing the death crawl on the floor while shouldering the people on top. What makes this game so "killing" is in fact the whole group must move in the line. The person in the middle will shoulder the most weight. ( we must tabik jen ruw for that, as he was the only guy that didn't change position) . The key to actually doing this is by placing people that are lighter on the top instead. Those that are heavier will do the crawl. Well, most of us crawl until our knees hurt, bleed and swollen. But, it was a great game. Everyone of us counts. if 1 side is too fast, the whole thing falls. If too slow, the weight will kill those underneath. It's all about teamwork, strategy and motivation. It's the willingness of each and everyone member of the group to make effort that makes this game so beautiful

Over to the gals, their game is also similiar to us. but instead of doing the death crawl. 2 girls have to carry a gal across the field. This also need to be done in a line. if anyone falls off, they have to start from the place where the person falls off. The gals have quite a tough time also. Because, carrying gals around is not easy. Ask the gals themselves. But if your light, then finelar. But if you not so light, it can be a drag. But the gals show us they got muscles too. Although emotions ran high at times, the gals manage to pull through this. It also takes teamwork, understanding and willingness to sacrifice to get this done.

After this game, all of us were having backaches and bruises. anyway, it's worth it. It's all in a days work. Being the 2nd biggest group in camp and manning this whole thing is no easy thing. So, i must salute everyone of us in group Samuel for playing a part in the whole thing. It actually bring us close together. let us remember this One Night for the rest of the year and continue to build towards this. tat's all. THUNDER-ON

Well, we're back from CAMP. It was a bigger camp. I'm planning to put the camp story into either 2 parts or 3 parts.

Anway, i can't tell u much on the first day as i came late, but i only know that most of the people complain bout the RM 4.50 ricelar. anyway, it's back to the action.

I will start on the 2nd day of camp. We had our usual morning stuff and exercise, n we have a very funny exercise conducted by John Low (and his usual crazy exercise), we have a photo here that shows how crazy the exercise it (look at James face). Then we have our message and discussion and all those things that u guys dun 1 to hear.

And at 3pm, it was the DIVIDE AND CONQUER GAME, and we had a great time. If u guys dunno the game, this game is split into 5 types of games: futsal, beach volleyball, floorball, captain ball and basketball.

We dominated in the basketball section as we had season pros in our team that is made up of Jen Ruw, "Panjang" Je hsi and chee kar plus veteran yuke bin. we also ended the winning streak of group Joshua in captain ball (if this was DOTA, we would have earn more gold if we end people's winning streak).

We also did very well in the floorball division, but Yee Ling was swinging air in the penalty shoot-out of 1 gamelar. But we still win, with Yee Ling's help :) Let me tell u something, most gals are very nice in our church, but when they play floorball, they become very violent. This shows the true colours of the gals in our church, i almost got hit by the sticks they hold while i was playing floorball with them. Guys, if u wanna noe if ur girlfriend is nice or not, bring them to petra for a game of floorball, n u can see their true colours............ Before i end, the last floorball game, Wen Cheong score the winning penalty. i told u monks are cool, coz no hair mah............ ( i also miss, so yee ling, we're even) . Coming back to our main topic. We at group Samuel will want to wish Wing a Happy Birthday. We also hope she can grow "taller" in her faith. This young member is forever 12 years old. ( better than Alan Tam, coz he always say he forever 25). We also hope she can fulfill her potential and grow (spiritual, physical really need to praylar ). where was I? long time didn't update the blog.......... Well, I took some time off to update you on this month activities. I will try to get maybe a poster up on our coming event, that is SISTER'S DAY. haven't heard of it right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Coz this is the FIRST time we are having it in our church.( more specific, our GROUP)

Tonight, we went to ambush Ross at his house to scare him on his birthday... Kakakaka!
We march from Lydia's house to Ross' with the birthday cake of course. We sent in our commander first, to have a "serious talk" with him... While our poor Ross is still panicking, we all rush in with the cake & birthday song! Hehe!

Well, hello again from us at Group Samuel again. I know, I know........ U guys are wondering why there isn't any update on our Petra Olympics while other group got updates. Well, i don't have our group photos with me now, the photos are in the church PC ( taking pictures from the Church PC is risky as it contains viruses and trojans, nevertheless, it's a risk we are willing to take) . I will run a full report on what happen in Olympic ASAP.

Coming back to our group, this blog is a bit down ( coz i'm starting to be lazy to update, and now i repentent) . So here are we, at Lookout point, Hulu Langat. Actually, our group plan to have some activities in Time Square. But then, it rain heavily. So slight change of plan, we went to this place called Lookout Point.

The lookout point is a place where people go there to enjoy the cool breeze and fresh air while eating or just plain "lepaking". It's also a place where people usually go dating. ( guys, if you wanna impress the gals, bring them here for dinner). We reach there around 6pm. Since it rain earlier, there were MIST. it was cooling ( no need to pay the toll to enjoy the cool air in Genting, u can come here)

We had sometime snapping photos and chit chatting. After that, we went to Gasonline to have dinner. It was so nice, eating hot food while enjoying the cold weather. I ordered myself a bowl of mushroom soup ( imagine having it while the weather is cool, the effect = WALAU). The food was also tasty. while we were dining, some gals were very cold, so Yuke Bin went and took out some sweaters from his car. ( i have no idea Yuke Bin has so many sweaters, but that's why he's a Commander). anyway, the night lights that luminate the whole of KL is so nice. It was like a Christmas Tree.

It's been a while since i updated the blog. This is our long delayed investiture update ( didn't have time to update coz of my exam)

This is how we welcome our members into the group, by balloons. It was exciting as most of us enjoy playing balloons. We had 2 games where the losers would be punished. One of the losers was our Deputy Commander, Yee Ling ( aiyo, why u so like that 1?). She had to sit on the balloon and burst it. (look at the pictures to see for yourself if yee ling got heavier). besides that, the other game we played was the game where u have to call out the name of the person or u will get hit by the roll of newspaper. tat game ended with a bang and poor Wing had to hug suet ling to burst the balloon as a punishment.

Well, that's what we called investiture. another thing bout investiture is that we have taken a pledge and we have to fufill it. Let us work together as a group and go BEYOND LIMITS

Wishing Coungratulation to our Mentor, Chee Wah on his wedding with Grace. Wow. it was a great day for us at Group Samuel. Not because of the rain, (man, everybody was scared of the THUNDER). But for Chee Wah's wedding and the program that followed. I have posted some pictures on their BIG day. (p/s. bout the game chee wah play tat day shows tat looking for your wife is not easy).

The other big thing on that day was Captain Ball. Our group SHOOK them with THUNDER, the first match against Gideon, we managed to draw with them ( although the got the Playa from the Ghanaaa, Samuel), we manage to outplay them thank. The next match was against Group Moses and boy, it was a match we could see the best of the 2R combo, Robin and Jen Rew. We were playing our best match. We were losing at the first half, but both of them manage to snatch victory from them.

Last match is against Group Joshua, but we abandon it due to rain. When group Samuel is serious, There will be THUNDER from the sky

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from us at Group Samuel

Hola, It has been a great time for us group Samuel in Caroling. We gathered at church and set out to our first house, that is Jen Ruw's house for some "lip-smacking, hot & smooching" Steamboat. The weather was perfect as it rained earlier. Mr and Mrs Soo was very generous with their hospitality. They kept serving us while we were happily eating (makes us feel guilty saja). Not only that, we received surprise "red packet" from them too! A BIG THANK YOU to Mr & Mrs Soo!! And we gave them a small pink hamper as a token of our appreciation. They were wonderful host, the members spend time around the steamboat tables trying to eat up the food before the leaders came (ask Yuke Bin lar). But most of us glue our eyes on the tv set, coz Home Alone was shown (very funny movie)!

After that, we went over to our member, Yuann Ru's house for caroling. To our surprise, there was also another steamboat for us (this round got clams, prawns, crabs and fish)! WAH, our group is really blessed with so many food to eat. We hang around there, chit chat, mingle with Mr Yeong. Another thing is there was also a mini-concert by Yuke Bin & gang. For that, we from Group Samuel wanna say THANK YOU to Mr Yeong for opening his house for us.

FINALLY............ We went back to church for our PYP Christmas Countdown. Before that, we debuted our cheer that sounds like this "THUNDER, THUNDER, THUNDER, THUNDER-SAM!!!!!!!!!!!" (Although it sounded awful at the first try, we will tweak it and improve it and it will sound great the next time u hear it) Besides, we sang and cheer our lungs out. On that night, we also played the "bombing" game, our group manage to out-bomb the other groups.

That's all for now, this is only the beginning, there is more to come from. We have a long journey as a group. So let us THUNDER our way into 2008! This is SAAAAMUUUUEEEEELLLLLLL!!!!!

Here We Come a-CAROLING

Sam, Sam, Sam! (Instead of the Ho, Ho, Ho!) Well, It's Christmas time! Time to celebrate the birth of Christ, practice giving (for those stingy people, i know it's hard), and most of all, bring FRIENDS. That's right, Sam wants you this Christmas, for caroling and Christmas. So you better come. I dunno how you plan to come, if you are stuck in Pahang and Johor, SWIM here (whoever stuck there-lar), or u can crawl, ride, fly and so on. Just come! (Inform leaders if need transport)

Let me brief you what's goin on that day (those post by 'myself n i', not "CHUN" enough):
We will gather at church by 6.30pm and after that, set out to Jen Ruw's house for caroling. After singing, we get rewarded with dinner (for once, we'll have something special on caroling night - STEAMBOAT!). We'll lepak there and later we will go to Mr Yeong house - our little Yuann Ru's house as well!

FINALLY........... We'll go back to church for Christmas Countdown ala Petra Youth Style.
This is where you can experience what we call "The Petra Youth Production Experience"

So get your Christmas attire (we'll be in PINK this year, if you don't have then RED la), friends (dunno how u plan to bring, just bring them by all means: beg, ask, con and so on...)

All you need to do is SING! And after all that, we will return to Petra Gospel Centre to gather together for the Christmas Countdown! There will be games for your enjoyment and laughter will fill your ears and lips like never before! Be prepared for the excitement that awaits you there =D

Time : 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Listen to the true message of Christmas and participate in the “Gift Giving Session” where everyone (well, almost everyone) gives and receives at the same time. Be prepared to see a sight that can only be seen in the church!

25th Dec 07 (TUE) ~ Christmas Night Outreach Programme
Time : 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
We will be having dinner together as a youth group before the actual programme starts. Delicious food guaranteed! Furthermore, after the dinner, you will get to watch a sketch which is prepared by a crew of a certain number of members in our youth group. Once again, you will get to listen to the true message of Christmas. There’s never such a thing as “too much” when it comes to Christmas Messages!
Note: RM12 per person for the yummy dinner, look out for Sook Kuan for the reservation ^.^
